Whimsical characters, emerging straight from Slavic fairytales, inhabit the eccentric world of Dreamland. This installment of the Dreamland Project, Visa to Dreamland, was an interactive performance/ quest game developed by Luna and artist/ director Maidibor for the annual Summer Festival of TurnPark Art Space in June of 2025. Audience members were invited to apply to get a Visa to Dreamland. To do this, they gathered stamps on their official visa paper from our somewhat villainous, but not unkind creatures - Agent 001 (the Bureaucrat), Baba Yaga, Forest Man, and Merman - interacting with them directly one-on-one or in small groups. Characters were dressed in otherworldly living sculpture-like costumes, and at the culmination of the performance, the commanding Bureaucrat of the Visa to Dreamland Realm emerged from his cardboard bureaucracy cocoon to grow beautiful butterfly wings, breaking free from the establishment and into the fairytale.
